Septic Tank Pumping

Septic tank and treatment plant pumping

The most efficient way to maintain your septic system and treatment plant is to have your tanks cleaned out bi-annually.  It is regulation of most council’s to have your septic system pumped and serviced every 2 to 3 years.  Failure to comply with servicing may result in a fine.  It is recommended that you contact your local council and get a copy of their policy on septic tank and treatment plant systems.

Common problems with poorly maintained septic systems are generally from the irrigation lines.  This is caused when the irrigation line becomes blocked irrigation lines may result in your system backing up and waste water discharging straight onto the ground.

By pumping your septic system and maintaining clean irrigation lines, you increase the efficiency of your septic system. Regular cleaning will also minimise effluent runoff into our water ways and prevent environmental pollution and damage.

What to do when you require your septic system to be pumped:

Locate your tank and lid.

Call Eco Liquid Waste on 1300 132 731 to arrange a pump service.

Advise us of the type of septic system, number of tanks and tank size (in litres).

Let the Eco Liquid Waste team know the access for our trucks.

Make sure the pit lid or opening to tank is exposed and accessible.

Open for important information

Do not leave your pit lid open, animals and children can fall into open systems and drown. Leave lids closed and we will open exposed lids when we are onsite.

If the pit lids are not exposed when our service team arrive, you may be charged a wasted call out fee or incur additional labour costs.

Trucks must be able to get within 25 metres of the septic system. If your system is further away than 25 metres, please advise our team as additional costs may apply and the truck may require additional equipment to complete the service to your tank.

If you have steep access onto your site or your site is muddy and bogged, please advise our team. Sites that are not accessible by our trucks on arrival may incur a wasted call out charge.

Some septic systems may require some additional water to assist with the cleaning of your tank. If you do not have water available on site or you have tank water and you do not want us to use it, please advise our team so other arrangements can be made.

If you have a muddy site, you as the hirer will be responsible for any dirt on the road or driveway.  Eco Liquid Waste will not be responsible for the clean-up.  You will liable for any towing costs if our trucks get bogged due to poor ground conditions.

When manoeuvring trucks on site, our drivers have blind spots where they cannot see small objects. Always keep all children and animals inside and away from our trucks while our team is on site.

It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to pump out the average tank system.

It is the hirers responsibility to show our operator which tank you would like pumped.

Please read important Terms and Conditions prior to any servicing.
